Rush donated all ticket sales and their performance fee from the Red Deer concert to help the victims of the Alberta floods. I want you to pay special attention to a passing reference towards the end of the article--Rush made a point of paying their own expenses, to ensure as much of the money as possible goes to where it's needed. This is not the self-serving gesture of so many artists who make themselves looks good in the press by handing over other people's money--they made sure they dug deep themselves.
They've never made a super-huge deal of it, but Rush has a long history of generosity--and not the big flashy charity work that many artists deploy as self-marketing. Kudos to them for this and all they've done over the decades.
